Currently, Bold Coast partners with more than a dozen privately owned distributed generation facilities in Maine’s Community Energy Program. Through our tailored revenue management approach, these facilities have been able to quadruple their revenue, enabling long-overdue, capital-intensive upgrades. These investments have strengthened both the performance and reliability of the facilities—directly benefiting the thousands of subscribers who depend on them.

When you participate in Community Energy, you receive credits generated from a qualified renewable energy resource—such as hydro, wind, solar, or biogas.

These credits are applied directly to your utility bill, reducing some or all of your electricity costs. You will still receive your regular bill from your utility, but it will now include a line item showing the community energy credits applied.

In addition, you’ll receive a separate monthly bill from Bold Coast Energy for the discounted value of those credits. The result is simple: you pay your utility less and save money each month, while supporting renewable energy development in your region.
